TEST ENGINEERING
Speedmaster

The Speedmaster developed by GRW is a non-contact measuring instrument for the dental industry. It determines the speeds of fast-running rotating instruments. It may also be used for other fast-rotating components like motors, high-frequency spindles, etc.
Principle of measurement
A test pin is magnetized by means of the permanent magnet comprised in the delivery. The sensor is positioned 1 to 10 mm away from the magnetized shaft. When this shaft rotates, the special sensor developed by GRW takes up the weak magnetic field, reinforces it, and indicates the speed in min-1.
The non-contact recording is designed for speeds from 20,000 to 600,000 min-1.
The device has proved to be particularly useful in development and production as well as the repair of dental turbines and dental angular handpieces.
Speedmaster
The device consists of a solid aluminium housing, with the display positioned on the front and the connectors located at the rear.
